This page is dedicated to the many foods of our time. Since people liked the hot chocolate so much, I figured they might like it if they could learn of other foods from either Spain or Costa Rica or Puerto Rico or any other such place. Enjoy!

QUIMBOLITO, food of Quito, Ecuador.
It is a very common as well as tasty dish that is found in Ecuador. The locals will eat it for dessert, and I found it in a restaraunt where they served many other classic foods, such as cuy (pronounced "guy") which is, in fact, a small rodent known as the guinea-pig.
This food is a very delicious dessert. Basically, it is a sort of bread pudding put into a cornhusk, and most have a few raisins placed on top for flavor or looks. I believe they can be laced with cognac.
This picture doesn't quite do the food justice but it is indeed, wrapped in a cornhusk. If you get the chance to eat one of these, eat it. This is, by the way, my favorite food.
Tres Leches, food of all Latin America.
All this really is a cake that is made from three different types of milk, regular milk or cream, condensed milk and evaporated milk. I wrote 'food of all Latin America above' but really, this food was found in Mexico and Nicaragua first, before others caught on. Depending where you go, the recipe may be slightly altered...fruits or nuts can be added, and we Americans can add alchol to any dessert we find.
This is really what Tres Leches looks like. Not too great of a dessert, on my opinion, but some people like it a lot. For me, I can go without.
Churros Rule!
Churros originated in Spain, where they were a sort of fried dough pastry made with spices (such as cinnamon) and were sold by street vendors to locals, hot. These were freshly baked so that they would sell better. The churro receives it's name from a sheep, whose horns look like the food. In Spain, these can be eaten as breakfast food, but of course they are also sold throughout the day. The dough is pushed through a certain type of pipe to give it the star shaped end. These can be very tasty.
Nowadays, Churros can be found just about anywhere....Spain, of course, but also in Latin America, America, and even France. Each place it is found makes it a little different, like being filled with fruit (that, by the way, is found in Cuba). I would guess it can be found with chocolate filling as well.
I enjoy eating churros. They are very sweet, and, to the right audience, can be the perfect meal.
Beans and rice, head to Costa Rica!
You want a very typical meal from Costa Rica? Well, I can't give you a whole meal, but here's one thing for you. Beans and rice can be found in almost every single meal you eat in Costa Rica. When I went to school in Costa Rica, that was one thing that was always on the hot lunch...beans
and rice! At first, I ate them separate, but then I began to eat the two mixed together, like the locals do.
This is very tasty in Costa Rica. You might not like it the first time you try it, you gradually, you may delevop a taste for it, as I did.
Chapulines: Mexican Delicacy
Made in Mexico, Chapulines are grasshoppers collected during the summer. They are then cleaned, toasted, and given lemon juice for extra zest! This rare treat is mostly made in Oaxaca and has been for over 3000 years. If the grasshoppers are not cooked properly, they can sometimes carry nasty nemotodes, which can infest humans. Yumm!
Personally, I can live without trying this one!

Sangria: Punch of Spain and Portugal
Basically, sangria is a type of red wine that contains slilced fruit, soda and honey, or another type of sweet juice. It also tends to have a shot of brandy. However, alcholic content varies, since there are so many recipes. This drink is usually served at informal social gatherings, like punch. Sangria can be bought either in a bottle or served at a bar(not typical) but it is more fun to make it one's self.
Sadly, this one I have never tried (because of the alcohol) but I would very much like to. I had a non alcholic version once, but it tasted like coke with fruit stuck in.
Chile relleno! Mexican fun
This is a traditional Mexican dish that is a stuffed pepper (green Anaheim or a poblani chile pepper). What it is stuffed with varies, but always has cheese, and tomato sauce. It is possible to have pork or some other type of meat in the pepper. These are a tasty way to spread out the budget and to feed a large family.
I don't remember the chile rellenos having raisins or nuts in them, but there are varities, I suppose. Still, these are very tasty, and they are always the first thing I look for when I go to Mexican restaurants.

Joshua!! My favorite Swordmaster/gambler!!
Joshua is the best in Sacred stones, but I also like Franz, actually. I made him a very, very strong paladin...speed is my key. I have a massive three paladin frontal attack, followed by a wyvern rider and two pegasis riders. Then I have some infantry and a general leading the rear. Two berkserkers and one general.

ophelia said

is it just a generic word for people that other people think are weird?
ricolaaa said

it is straight from the dictionary "rhyming slang for turd. characterized by someone who is socially dull, awkward, and unstylish, etc. also one who is slavishly dedicated to intellectual pursuits or hobbies." then i looked up turd, and it said a whole bunch of things i would rather not write, and "an insulting and vulgar term." so when people call you a nerd, you can call them for vulgarity, technically, but then they'd just call you a nerd for knowing that...
